Cast your vote now for the 2024 Eagle-Gazette High School Male Athlete of the Year

LANCASTER — The 2023-24 high school season has wrapped up and that means the final, and most prestigious Eagle-Gazette postseason award is set to be announced.

On Friday, the Eagle-Gazette will release its choice for Male Athlete of the Year, which will go to an athlete who excelled in more than one sport during this past school year.

Eagle-Gazette readers can now vote online for who they think should be selected as the high school Male Athlete of the Year from the 2023-2024 season. Selections are listed below. The poll will run from 6 a.m. Tuesday to 6 p.m. Friday.

Cole Dickerson, senior, Lancaster: All-Ohio in football, All-Ohio in wrestling

Jack Gentile, senior, Fisher Catholic: All-Ohio in cross country, two-time state champion in track and field

Caleb Schmelzer, senior, Fairfield Union: All-Ohio in basketball, All-District in soccer

Park Truex, junior, Bloom-Carroll: Three-sport standout, earning all-league honors in all three sports

Caleb Redding, senior, Fairfield Union: Earned first team All-Ohio honors in soccer, all-district in backetball
