Celebrate Elmira art Saturday with Mural Fest 2024. What to know about 'Infinite Canvas'
Colorful murals brighten many formerly blighted corners of the City of Elmira, and this weekend, residents can see mural artists in action as they create new works in the downtown area.
Community Arts of Elmira will sponsor Elmira Infinite Canvas – Mural Fest 2024 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday along the Elmira Promenade under the Railroad Avenue Viaduct, between West Second and West Water streets.
The event will feature interactive art, a DJ and live music, dancers and food vendors, while professional local muralists brighten multiple walls around Elmira with new murals.
Artists will be creating murals at eight locations around the city during the festival, including outside the Community Arts building on Lake Street, the Pennsylvania Avenue/Clemens Center Parkway viaduct, and the South Main Street/West Miller Street viaduct west wall, among others.
Participating artists will include Christopher Eldred, E. Courtney Byfield Jr., Filomena Jack, Dion Browne, Crystal Parks, Cuba Leach, Lindy Packard and Tori Immerwahr.
