Friday's performance by Dion inside the Eiffel Tower — her first public appearance since announcing she is dealing with stiff-person syndrome — resulted in high emotions by viewers. Among them: Kelly Clarkson, on NBC's opening ceremony broadcast. The country music star was notably emotional on the broadcast, calling Dion "a vocal athlete."

It is the second time that Dion has performed during the opening ceremony at the Olympics, as she sung at the opening ceremony in Atlanta in 1996.

Considering Dion has not performed in public in quite some time, on top of how beloved she is among her fans, her performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony received quite a positive reaction on social media.
