Chamber elects board leadership

May 27—The Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors last week elected its leadership for the upcoming fiscal year.

Peter Lorenz, the CEO of Unirac, will serve as chair-elect. Del Esparza, the CEO of Esparza Advertising, will be Chamber board chairman.

Lorenz has been on the Chamber's education and policy committee and chair of its board.

Esparza is an Albuquerque native whose business is in Downtown. He's served as the chair of the Chamber's public safety and Downtown revitalization committees. He will succeed Bruce Stidworthy, the president and CEO of Bohannan Huston.

Esparza is also the author of "The Next Dinosaur," a guide for small and midsized businesses seeking to transition into ecommerce.

"The Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce has an incredible reputation for standing not just for business, but for our community at large," said Esparza. "I'm proud to be part of an effort that advocates for job creators — and works to fight crime, improve our state's public schools for every kid and build a thriving downtown where people want to work, live and play."
