After a thrilling first-round win Saturday, The Ville returns to Freedom Hall on Monday evening looking to take another step toward The Basketball Tournament's $1 million grand prize.

Up next for the group of mostly former U of L standouts: No. 3-seeded Sideline Cancer, which finished second in the tournament in 2020.

The Ville reached TBT's round of 32 by outlasting a team of primarily ex-Bellarmine players, UKnighted, 79-70, in front of the fourth-largest crowd in tournament history (5,987). Montrezl Harrell led the way with 20 points and nine rebounds.

"The little adversity we had," head coach Reece Gaines said, "made us come together a little closer."

Sideline Cancer took down VBL, 100-77, on Saturday evening.
