Charli XCX Issues Bold Demand to Her Fans After They Go Viral for Chanting About Taylor Swift at Her Shows

Charli XCX has an unquestionable demand for some of her fans after they were recorded bashing Taylor Swift during the hyperpop artist's recent events.

According to a screenshot from the "London Queen" singer's Instagram Story shared on X by a Swift fan account, she's finally breaking her silence after some of her fans went viral for shouting "Taylor is dead" during a release party for her latest album earlier this month—behavior that has apparently made its way into her concert crowds, too.

But the Reputation tour opener is shutting it all down. Over a screenshot of a video reportedly from a Brat release party on June 7 in Sao Paulo, followed by a clip from Charli's show at a nightclub in the same area on June 23 — both of which depict the crowd chanting, in Portuguese, "A Taylor Morreu!" — the singer called on "the people who do this" to "stop."

"it is the opposite of what i want and it disturbs me that anyone would think there is room for this in this community," she added, concluding with, "i will not tolerate it."

Her message came after one X user called on her to denounce the practice, sharing the evidentiary videos on social media.

They called attention to the "toxic behavior," politely asking, "Could you do something about it? We don’t belive [sic] that’s what music should be about."

While Charli has addressed the controversy, Dave Grohl has yet to speak out after going viral for insinuating that Swift and her band aren't really performing live night after night. Billy Joel also recently caught some heat for a comment that some fans believe to be "out of touch."
