Check out these pumpkin patches and farm stands in the Ozarks

Halloween is creeping closer, and as fall weather begins to tease the Ozarks, people are heading out to area pumpkin patches for photos and fun or to pick the perfect specimen to decorate at home.

The News-Leader compiled a list of area pumpkin patches and farm stands with pumpkins among the produce for sale. This list is not comprehensive for the Springfield area as there are countless farms that provide fall activities throughout the Ozarks.

Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park

Where: 3825 W. Farm Road 146 in Springfield

Hours: Tuesday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Throughout the month of October, Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park's pumpkin patch is open Tuesday through Sunday.

Each weekend in October, the park hosts its Harvest Fest. The fall-themed festival includes a 2.5-mile corn maze, hay rides, inflatables, horse rides and barnyard races.

Entry to the farm park and Harvest Festival is free. Family-friendly activities are priced on a ticketing system, with activities usually ranging between $1-$5. Entry to the corn maze is $4 per adult and $3 per child 5-11. Pumpkins from the patch are priced based on weight.

Fassnight Creek Farm

Where: 1366 S. Fort Ave. in Springfield

Hours: Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.

Springfield's urban farm, Fassnight Creek Farm, is gearing up for the fall season. The farm will have pumpkins, mums, fall flowers and gourds available for sale. The farm stand accepts cash, check and debit/credit cards.

Barnhouse Pumpkin Patch

Where: 5484 W. Sunshine St. in Brookline

Hours: Everyday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Barnhouse Pumpkin Patch in Brookline held its grand opening for the fall season on Friday, Sept. 13 and will be open through Oct. 31. The pumpkin patch features pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn, milo stalks, corn stalks, mums and hedge apples. Family-friendly activities and a corn maze are also available.

Every Saturday and Sunday, the pumpkin patch hosts food and craft vendors.

Entry to the patch is free. Access to the activities is $10 per person and access to the activities and corn maze is $20 per person.

Hale's Harvest

Located at 4193 S. Glenstone Ave. in Springfield and 1579 US Highway 60 East in Republic, Hale's Harvest is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Hale's Harvest operates two locations, one in Springfield and the other in Republic. Both locations offer pumpkins, mums, corn and gourds for sale. Fall-themed home décor for sale and photo opportunities are also at both locations.

Pickin' Patch Farm

Where: 22813 Highway Z in Marionville

Hours: Sunday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Pickin' Patch Farm is hosting its opening day on Sept. 20. The farm will be open through Oct. 31. The family farm offers pumpkins, mums, corn stalks, gourds and straw bales. Hayrides and a corn maze are also available at the farm. Admission to Pickin' Patch Farm is $6 per person, 3 and up.

McKenna Family Farm

Where: 3265 State Highway F in Branson

Hours: Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Branson's McKenna Family Farm will be open Sept. 28 through Oct. 27. The farm includes free access to a pumpkin and produce patch and paid entry for activities inside the farm's barn. Paid admission includes access to bounce pillow and jump pads, a wood pallet maze, corn box, hay bale maze, gerbil wheels, swings, rubber duck races, slides, swinging tubs, a tire mountain, evening hayride and 3-acre corn maze.

Admission is $9 per person, ages 3-65, $4.50 per adult over 66 and free for children two and under. Campsites can also be rented at the farm, ranging $20-40.

Fieth Family Farm

Where: 1663 E. 490th Road in Bolivar

Hours: Friday from 5-9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.

Fieth Family Farm in Bolivar will be open Sept. 28 through Nov. 2. The farm offers a 13-acre corn maze, wagon rides, barrel train rides, swings, a tree house, corn play box, sling shots, corn hole, inflatables, a picnic area and campfire pits. Pumpkins, gourds and cut flowers will be for sale.

Live entertainment will be held at the farm throughout October. Trent Prewitt will perform on Oct. 12, Bishop - Mau will perform on Oct. 18 and Reed Herron will perform on Oct. 25. Food trucks will also be at the farm, including Amy's Cakes, Cookies & Confections; Ice Smoke Shack; Orange Southern Food Truck; Papa's Dog House; Carousel Concessions; Curbow's BBQ; Salty Pirate Ship Coffee; The Infinite Kitchen; and Smashed Burger.

Admission to Fieth Family Farm is $12 for adults and free for children under the age of 3. Seniors and military personnel receive $2 off admission. Parking is free.

Campbell's Maze Daze

Where: 177 Carob Road in Clever

Hours: Sept. 28-29 from noon to 7 p.m., Friday in October from 5-11 p.m., Saturday in October from noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday in October from noon to 7 p.m.

Campbell's Maze Daze will be open Sept. 28 through Oct. 31. The farm in Clever offers a corn maze, bonfires, pumpkin patch, hayrides, karaoke, magic shows, scavenger hunts, pumpkin decorating and a haunted corn maze.

Admission is $10 per person on Friday evenings, Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sundays. Admission is $12 on all Saturday evening expect Sat. 28.

Exeter Corn Maze

Where: 20946 FR 1057 in Exeter

Hours: Wednesday from 4:30-8:30 p.m., Friday from 3:30-10:30 p.m., Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

This year, the Exeter Corn Maze is open through Nov. 3. The maze offers, of course, a traditional corn maze, in addition to haunted events, including a haunted barn, haunted corn trail, zombie paintball, Lights N' Fights (haunted wagon ride). A pumpkin patch, sunflower field and apple orchard are also on-site.

Admission to the Exeter Corn Maze is $22.95 per adult and $20.95 per child under 12. Admission includes access to the corn maze, barnyard activities and Frights N' Lights. Wednesday admission is $18.95 per adult/child. Tickets can be purchased in advance on the Exeter Corn Maze website.
