Chloe Fineman Shares Who She's Most ‘Excited’ to Have on “SNL” as Season 50 Gets Underway (Exclusive)

Fineman spoke to PEOPLE at the premiere of her new sci-fi film 'Megalopolis,' which also stars Grace VanderWaal, Adam Driver and Aubrey Plaza

Chloe Fineman has a lot to look forward to on Saturday Night Live’s upcoming season!

On Monday, Sept. 23, PEOPLE caught up with Fineman at the premiere of her new sci-fi film Megalopolis — co-starring Aubrey Plaza, Adam Driver and Grace VanderWaal — and the 36-year-old comedian revealed that the SNL cast is back together at Studio 8H preparing for the upcoming 50th season, which Fineman teases will be full of surprises.

“I'm excited,” she says. “We're going with a big bang for the 50th! Soon, I think our special guests for the political stuff will be announced.”

“I'm super stoked and yeah, it was like a good back to school vibe,” Fineman adds of getting back to work.

She and her SNL cast members have quite a busy season ahead, with several notable guests already announced including Jean Smart, Jelly Roll, Nate Bargatze, Coldplay, Ariana Grande, Michael Keaton and Billie Eilish, among others. Though the actress has her sights set on working with some music legends as well as ​​burgeoning talent.

“I mean, Stevie Nicks and Ariana Grande [as guests] is insane,” she tells PEOPLE.

“I definitely had a Chappell Roan summer, as we all did,” Fineman says. “So, I was like, I can't believe I might get to be in the same building and sing ‘Pink Pony Club,’ you know? So we'll see. Hopefully that will happen.”

Roan and Smart will be newcomers to the SNL stage. However, they won’t be alone, as SNL announced three new comedians would be joining the show: Emil Wakim, Ashley Padilla and Jane Wickline.

Last week, Fineman shared some insight and advice to people joining the show for the first time at the Through Her Lens: The Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker Program luncheon.

“Have fun,” she advised, before adding of her experience. “Yeah ... You kind of are, like, thrown into the fire.”

There have been several other shakeups in the cast for the upcoming season, as Punkie Johnson, Chloe Troast and Molly Kearney were announced to have stepped away this season, while Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker were promoted to the main cast after two years each as featured players.

SNL’s season 50 premieres Sept. 28 at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Megalopolis premieres in theaters on Friday, Sept. 27.
