Chris O’Donnell prioritizes his family, which includes his five children: Lily, Christopher, Charlie, Finley and Maeve.

The Three Musketeers actor grew up with six siblings and knew from a young age that he wanted to have a large family of his own. In 1997, Chris married his wife, Caroline, and two years later, the couple welcomed their first child, Lily Anne O’Donnell.

“It’s the most amazing feeling in the world to hold your child in your arms,” he told Rolling Stone about fatherhood. “I’d do anything for her.”

Chris and Caroline went on to have four more kids: In 2000, they had their first son, Christopher Eugene O’Donnell Jr. His birth was followed by sons Charles O’Donnell in 2003 and Finley O’Donnell in 2006. The following year, their youngest child, daughter Maeve Frances O’Donnell, was born.

“For sure my top priority is family,” Chris told PEOPLE in 2010. After having his daughters and sons, he took a break from acting. The Batman & Robin star returned to Hollywood when he signed on for NCIS: Los Angeles, a decision he made partly because it meant he could stay close to his wife and kids.

“Until you have children, you just have no idea what it means to love somebody,” Chris said while appearing on the show Who Do You Think You Are? in 2013.

Here’s everything to know about Chris O’Donnell’s children: Lily, Christopher, Charlie, Finley and Maeve.

Chris and Caroline welcomed their first child, daughter Lily Anne O'Donnell, on Sept. 3, 1999, in New Zealand. At the time, the actor was on location filming Vertical Limit.

Although he was in New Zealand for work, Chris was in the delivery room for the birth of his firstborn. While appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbertin 2018, he revealed it didn't end up being "a great decision" because he fainted.

Growing up, Lily wanted to be an actress, and she got the chance to try it out at the age of 10 when she appeared in an episode of NCIS: Los Angeles. Along with her famous father, Lily also got to work with her younger brother, Charlie.

After her brief stint in Hollywood, Lily attended Boston College and majored in film and cinema studies. According to her LinkedIn profile, Lily worked in London as a marketing intern before moving to New York City to work in TV distribution for Lionsgate.

Chris and Caroline welcomed their first son, Chris Eugene O'Donnell Jr., on Oct. 24, 2000.

The pair named him after Chris but have always called him Chip. When he was a toddler, Chris and Caroline's eldest son loved to share his pride for his dad.

“When Chip was 3, as soon as we sat down [on the plane], he said, ‘My dad was Robin in the Batman movie,’ ” Chris told Redbook in 2010.

Speaking to PEOPLE in 2010, the Golden Globe nominee noted that his oldest son was “obsessed with sports.” Chip played soccer, baseball, football, lacrosse, basketball, tennis and golf as a child.

More recently, during an interview with Stephen Colbert in 2022, Chris shared that Chip was in college and still enjoyed golf like his dad.

Of Chris’ five children, Chip is the only one who hasn’t appeared on an episode of NCIS: L.A. The actor revealed in 2022 that his oldest son was supposed to make a cameo on the show, but unfortunately, someone on set got COVID-19, and it never came to fruition.

Chris and Caroline welcomed their son Charles McHugh O'Donnell, who goes by Charlie, on July 11, 2003.

“Lily was disappointed he wasn’t a girl,” Chris told PEOPLE about bringing his son Charlie home before adding that she and Chip were "real proud of their little brother.”

Charlie is also interested in acting. He appeared with his sister, Lily, on NCIS: L.A., where he played a younger version of his father’s character.

Chris' third child didn't stop performing there, either. “My son Charlie is doing the stage version of Legally Blonde,” Chris said on New York Live in 2016. “He’s an interesting little kid. He’s a really good golfer, he plays guitar, and now he’s doing these shows.”

Finley O’Donnell, 18

Chris and Caroline welcomed their son Finley O'Donnell on March 24, 2006.

“He's the easiest baby ever,” Chris told Good Housekeeping a year after Finley's birth. “I think that has a lot to do with the fact that we're much more relaxed these days.”

In 2011, Finley made his own on-screen appearance on NCIS: L.A. The then-5-year-old played a younger version of his father’s character like his older brother Charlie had done before.

A year prior, the father-son duo were seen sitting front row at a basketball game in L.A.

Chris and Caroline welcomed their youngest child, daughter Maeve Frances O'Donnell, on Dec. 10, 2007.

In an interview with PEOPLE that year, Chris gushed about his youngest, calling her “just the happiest little baby.”

During an interview on Live with Regis & Kelly shortly after her birth, Chris spoke about how parenting changes with the youngest.

“My daughter Lily’s the oldest, and by the time she was six months, we just had books of photos,” he said. “Poor little Maeve. My mom hasn’t met her yet, and last night she said, ‘Show me some pictures!’ I’m looking through my phone like, ‘Well, I got a couple, but they’re from two months ago.' ”

Like three of her siblings, Maeve has also acted alongside her father, appearing in a season 7 episode of NCIS: L.A. Chris shared the exciting news about his daughter on Instagram in 2015, writing, “Somebody is making the debut performance Monday night.”

The TV star hasn’t shared whether Maeve is interested in continuing to act, but more recently, the teenager accompanied her dad to the 2022 Emmy Awards.

In 2022, Chris, along with his NCIS: L.A. costar LL Cool J, created Come Dance with Me, a family-oriented reality dance competition. On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Chris said he was inspired to do the show after seeing Maeve doing various TikTok dance routines around their home.
