Christian Garrett decommits from Georgia football: What to know of 2025 college football DL recruit

Georgia football's 2024 recruiting class suffered on Sunday when four-star defensive lineman Christian Garrett announced his de-commitment from the program.

Garrett, who attends the local Prince Avenue Christian School, is ranked as the No. 138 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class per the 247Sports composite rankings and the No. 17 defensive lineman and player in the state.

Soon after his de-commitment, On3 Sports' recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong predicted that Garrett would flip his commitment to in-state rival Georgia Tech. Garrett initially committed to the Bulldogs on June 9, fresh off his official visit to Athens. On June 14, he officially visited the Yellow Jackets.

Georgia's 2025 recruiting class currently ranks fourth nationally and third in the SEC, behind only Alabama at No. 2 overall and No. 3 LSU. The Bulldogs have 22 commits, including two five-star recruits and 17 four-star recruits.

Last year, Garrett recorded 86 tackles (57 solo, 29 assisted), five sacks and 15 quarterback hurries.
