Cincinnati Bengals announce 8 team captains for 2024 season

The Cincinnati Bengals have announced their eight team captains for the upcoming season.

Quarterback Joe Burrow, center Ted Karras and left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. were voted to represent the offense. Defensive end Sam Hubbard, safety Vonn Bell and linebacker Germaine Pratt are the three defensive captains. Kicker Evan McPherson and linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither round out the group as the special teams leaders.

Brown Jr., Pratt, McPherson and Davis-Gaither are all first-time captains with the Bengals. Bell resumes his captain title in his return to the Bengals, as he is widely praised for his leadership in Cincinnati’s secondary.

Burrow has been a captain in each of his five seasons as the team's starting quarterback. Same with Karras who has earned the title for a third consecutive year. Hubbard is Cincinnati’s mainstay on defense, as he’s now a captain for a fourth time.

The Bengals kick off their season against the New England Patriots on Sunday at Paycor Stadium at 1 p.m. ET.
