Cincinnati Bengals' second lost fumble vs New England equals team total from last season
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tanner Hudson fumbled as he was getting ready to score on a catch from quarterback Joe Burrow during the first half, and the New England Patriots recovered.
When the Bengals halted the Pats' first drive of the second half, punt returner Charlie Jones fumbled during his return, and New England again recovered. The field goal three plays later gave New England a 13-0 lead.
The two lost fumbles in less than three quarters of the Bengals' season opener Sunday against the New England Patriots at Paycor Stadium equaled the team's total from last season.
Social media reactions to the turnovers, including from The Enquirer's Kelsey Conway and Charlie Goldsmith:
Charlie Jones fumbles the punt return
An absolute nightmare start for the Bengals— Kelsey Conway (@KelseyLConway) September 8, 2024
The game is following the exact game script New England wanted — the Bengals shooting themselves in the foot enough times to open up the door.

What an insane play by Patriots S Kyle Dugger to force that fumble before Bengals TE Tanner Hudson could score.
