Climber dies in Leominster State Forest

WESTMINSTER — A climber died in Leominster State Forest on Thursday, according to officials.

Rescuers converged on the area in the afternoon.

The forest, which covers Westminster and Leominster, includes Crow Hill, an area of ledges popular with rock climbers. Firefighters are occasionally summoned to rescue hikers.

Authorities released few details about the death, beyond confirming a climber died in the forest.

The case is under investigation by detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office.
