College World Series championship: Schedule, TV channel, streaming options for Tennessee vs Texas A&M

A first-time champion will be crowned at the College World Series for the third time in the last four years, and it will come from the SEC.

In what has been an incredible week of games at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, the eight-team field has been trimmed down to two: (1) Tennessee and (3) Texas A&M. The Vols and the Aggies will square off in the CWS best-of-three championship series starting Saturday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET in Omaha, Nebraska.

Tennessee is 8-1 in the postseason since it began, with that lone loss coming to Evansville in Game 2 of the Knoxville Super Regional. From timely hitting to big defensive plays — thanks to Kavares Tears and Hunter Ensley — the Vols have looked the part of being the top overall seed in the tournament in their last two games in Omaha. Tony Vitello's team is looking to become the first No. 1 seed since Miami in 1999 to win the CWS.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M has been one of the hottest teams in the country since the start of the NCAA baseball tournament, bringing a perfect 8-0 record in Saturday's game. This has come despite Jim Schlossnagle's squad dealing with key injuries to Braden Montgomery (season-ending) and Jace LaViolette, who is dealing with an ongoing hamstring injury. The Aggies, who fell to the Vols in the SEC Tournament, have outscored their opponents 14-3 in Omaha and have gotten stellar pitching from its starting rotation.
