Columbus Clippers hit three home runs in 8-3 win over Omaha Storm Chasers
Thursday’s game: Columbus 8, Omaha 3
Recap: Kyle Manzardo, Angel Martinez and George Valera hit home runs for the Clippers. Martinez, the leadoff hitter, had two hits to raise his batting average to .324. Columbus jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning off Storm Chasers starter Andrew Hoffmann, including a two-run homer by Manzardo. Clippers starter Gavin Williams allowed one run on three hits in four innings. He struck out six and walked two. Hunter Stanley (1-1), Columbus' fourth pitcher, got the win with two innings of hitless relief. .... Wednesday's game was postponed because of rain and will be made up Friday as part of a doubleheader beginning at 5:05 p.m. ... Infielder Jose Tena was promoted to Cleveland when the Guardians put outfielder Will Brennan on the injured list.
