All Creatures Great and Small confirms September return date
Channel 5 series All Creatures Great and Small has confirmed a return date for later this month.
The hit drama follows a group of vets working in the late 1930s in the Yorkshire Dales, and last aired a Christmas special in 2023.
The broadcaster has now confirmed that the upcoming fifth season will premiere on Thursday, September 19 at 9pm on Channel 5 and My5.

As for what fans can expect, the show “will continue to bring the stories of James Herriot to life as we return to Darrowby to rejoin our unconventional much loved Skeldale Family and the colourful ensemble of farmers, animals and townsfolk living in the Yorkshire Dales in the 1940s”.
All Creatures Great and Small features Silent Witness’ Anna Madeley as Audrey Hall, Slow Horses’ Samuel West as Siegfried Farnon, Prey for the Devil’s Nicholas Ralph as James Herriot and Cold Feet’s Callum Woodhouse as Tristan Farnon.
The series was renewed for both fifth and sixth seasons earlier this year, while the show’s first season was added to Netflix last month.
Speaking upon the recent renewal, Channel 5’s commissioning editor of drama Paul Testar said: “We’re so pleased that All Creatures Great and Small will be returning to Channel 5 for two more series.

“The show has captured the hearts of our audiences and we are committed to bringing even more of James Herriot’s unforgettable stories to our viewers. We can’t wait to share this next chapter.”

All Creatures Great and Small will return on Channel 5 and My5 on Thursday, September 19 at 9pm.
