Dallas Cowboy tackle Chuma Edoga left the team’s preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday with a foot injury.

Edoga, along with rookie first-round draft pick Tyler Guyton, was expected to help blunt the impact of the departure of All-Pro Tyron Smith.

Edoga was drafted with the No. 92 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft out of the University of Southern California. He started six games last year for the Cowboys most of which were when Smith couldn’t play due to injury.

Smith left the Cowboys in free agency to sign with the New York Jets on a one-year $6.5 million worth up to $20 million with incentives.

If Edoga is out for a long time that will mean more reps, opportunities and pressure on Guyton. The rookie had been suffering from an illness this week which is in part why Edoga earned the nod.
