Game notes: The Detroit Tigers welcome the Bronx Bombers to town for the start of a three-game series on Friday, however, only two of the games will be played at Comerica Park.

The Tigers and Yankees will conclude their series by playing in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for the Little League Classic on Sunday night, with American League Cy Young candidate Tarik Skubal set to pitch for the Tigers.

Before then, though, the Tigers and Yankees will kick things off in Detroit with another bullpen-only game set for Friday for A.J. Hinch and his staff. Thursday's series finale against the Mariners was also a bullpen game, with Alex Faedo starting things off before giving way to Kenta Maeda. That likely takes away at least two of the arms for Hinch to have at his disposal, although Faedo pitched just one inning on Thursday.

As the Tigers try to navigate a bullpen game, they'll face one of the most potent offenses in the league, especially at the top of the lineup. Aaron Judge is maving another MVP-caliber season, hitting .333 with 43 home runs and an incredible 1.174 OPS. Meanwhile, sweet-swinging lefty superstar Juan Soto has thrived with the protection of Judge behind him, mashing 34 home runs already with an OPS of 1.052 while leading the league in walks.

After the Tigers try to navigate the 1-2 punch of Soto and Judge on Friday, they'll do it again Saturday with rookie Keider Montero set to start for the Tigers with a 1:10 p.m. start time.
