What did Cory Booker say at the DNC?

U.S. Sen. Cory Booker repeatedly attacked former President Donald Trump on issues related to race, the economy and the vision of a future America.

"Look at who we are," Booker said at one point during his speech at the DNC. "Against bigotry and hate, we expanded equal rights for all Americans. Civil rights; workers' rights; LGBTQ+ rights; reproductive rights; the right to marry who you love; the right to be free.

"We did all of this in a way that didn't pit American against American; we did this by healing rifts, by healing divides and pulling people together."

Cory Booker slams Trump for attacks on Democrats and Republicans

Cory Booker, who paid tribute to the late U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. during his speech, also took Donald Trump to task for what the senator deemed was attacks on both parties.

"He viciously attacks Democrats and Republicans; his putdowns know no shame," Booker said during his DNC speech. "John McCain's military service; Nikki Haley's heritage; women; people with disabilities; trans people; our veterans; he is indiscriminate in his putdowns.

"His is the politics of smears and fear; not inspiration and elevation."
