French Bulldogs are renowned for their fun-loving and free-spirited nature. Despite their petite bodies, they possess powerful legs that appear to be designed for enthusiastic zooming around. But, they are rarely seen as avid swimmers.

However, this family of Frenchies is big on summer fun, and they know how to throw pool parties. Check out this video from July 13 to see these aquatic pups enjoying their day in the sun.

These adorable French Bulldogs (@brindlethefrenchie) have a lot of energy! Those precious ears making their way through the water are as cute as it gets. All seven are well trained, waiting patiently on the side of the pool for permission to go in, which is essential with so many dogs not known for their swimming abilities. Once suited up, they didn’t hesitate to jump right into the cool water. With their happy enthusiasm, it’s hard to imagine that Dad didn’t end this swimming session with a few scratches after these cheerful pups leaped right toward him. They also eagerly chased their toys and stole a frisbee from each other while paddling along. There are some serious athletes in this precious pack!

Can French Bulldogs Swim?

Even if they know how to swim, Frenchies often have difficulty staying afloat because of their heavy heads and short legs. However, these French Bulldogs seem to be an exception, as noted by their parents in the comment section. Although they reveal these dogs are capable swimmers, they still choose to put on flotation devices as a precaution, especially with so much activity taking place. Despite their ability to keep their heads above water, fatigue can set in quickly, leading to potential tragedy. As with any pet or child, it is essential to constantly supervise them when they are near the water, no matter how strong a swimmer they may be.

People wanted to join in on the summer fun. Viewer @mgnissen responded, “My dream…a heard of Frenchies!! I can’t imagine what zoomies look like at your house. Lol.” They must be epic! Viewer @lil_louis_thefrenchie shared, “One of ours loves the pool and to swim! Our other this year has become more interested and mostly floats!” Either way is excellent for cooling down. Viewer @ydorsey remarked, “I’m impressed they are swimming! All three of mine never liked the water to swim in. To jump & play in the hose was a different story.” Considering their bodies aren’t made for swimming, it’s probably best that most are cautious about going in.

This charming video is ideal to save when you’re having a rough day. It’s hard not to feel anything but happy watching them frolic in the sunshine.
