Doug Emhoff Gives Maya Rudolph Advice On How To Nail Her Kamala Harris Impression

It seems Tim Walz isn’t the only guy on Kamala Harris’ campaign team that gives off strong dad energy.

Esquire recently published a video interview with second gentleman Doug Emhoff in which they ask Harris’ husband if there is anything Maya Rudolph should include in her upcoming impression of the vice president on “Saturday Night Live.”

In response to the question, Emhoff delivered a joke in a very specific manner that would likely make a father — who is deeply concentrating on the complicated task of leveling a shelf — stop what he’s doing for just a brief moment and crack a smile.

“Yeah, they need a good Doug character,” Emhoff told Esquire before listing off three famous men who could play him on “SNL.”

“So, I’m thinking, Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Hemsworth. You know, people who look exactly like me,” he said before laughing.

It was confirmed last month that Rudolph would reprise her role as the Democratic presidential nominee on the upcoming 50th season of the live variety show, which will premiere on Sept. 28.

Rudolph initially imitated Harris on “SNL” in 2019 — and her impersonation was so good she won an Emmy for it.

Plus, “SNL” has already tackled an Emhoff impression. In a 2021 sketch, comedian Martin Short played a timid albeit sexually competent second gentleman. It’s likely that Short will be offered the role again — but our vote is for Ryan Gosling to portray Emhoff. Gosling has the physical attributes Emhoff is looking for and, much like Harris, loves to laugh.
