Downtown Columbus interstate ramp reopens after Sunday morning semi jackknife
The ramp from eastbound Interstate 70 to northbound Interstate 71 was closed for several hours Sunday after a crash, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Columbus police said they received a call at 8:13 a.m. on a a semi striking a wall on the ramp. The tractor trailer jackknifed, causing a rupture in its 100 gallon diesel fuel tank. Police said it is a hazmat situation and city electric crews were on their way to remove the truck.
The ramp reopened about 1 p.m.
The driver of the truck was examined for injuries, but did not require transport to a hospital.
This is the second time this ramp has been closed in three days after a crash on Friday morning also forced it to be closed for a few hours.
