'Dune: Part Two' Trailer Brings Epic Battles and a Sinister Villain
Dune: Part Two has released a brand new trailer, giving fans a first, sinister look at Emperor Shaddam IV.
The character is played by Christopher Walken, more recently seen as Burt in AppleTV+'s acclaimed series Severance.
Denis Villeneuve's follow-up to 2021's sci-fi epic Dune: Part One will introduce Walken's villain, with the trailer foreshadowing an unpleasant encounter with our hero, Timothée Chalamet's Paul Atreides.

"Your father was a weak man," the Emperor tells Paul in the clip, and we can tell this mean-spirited line will elicit a reaction.
Walken isn't the only Arrakis newcomer who's joining the huge ensemble for the sequel. The Oscar winner is in excellent company as Elvis star Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan and Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot will all make their Dune debuts, with Tim Blake Nelson also appearing in an undisclosed role.
Dune: Part Two is based on the second half of the first novel in Frank Herbert's Dune series of books.

Speaking about the scope of the story, writer Jon Spats has previously hinted at the possibility of continuing Paul's adventures past the first book. There is a chance Dune could be turned into a trilogy, should they go on to adapt Frank Herbert's second book in the series, Dune Messiah.
Alongside Chalamet, Dune: Part Two sees the return of Euphoria's Zendaya as Chani, Misson: Impossible star Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck and Javier Bardem as Stilgar.
