EastEnders has aired a shocking twist involving Dean Wicks at his murder trial, in the show's latest episode.

This week, things started to fall apart for The Six at the trial, when Sharon was found in contempt of court by the judge while she was giving evidence.

Linda arrived to give her witness statement, but when she saw what had happened to Sharon, she panicked and ran away.

In today's (September 3) episode, Linda had stayed the night in a hotel and was ignoring calls from her family. Johnny left a message pleading with her to come to court this afternoon, while Linda tried to resist the urge to drink.

Suki and Kathy continued to search for Linda, and they ran into Eve, who was getting ready to go to Charli's birthday party.

But she was upset when her fiancée told her that she couldn't come, saying Linda was "more important". Notably, Eve still doesn't know about the events of Christmas Day.

Meanwhile, Sharon was still being held in custody, and she told Phil that she had been sentenced to seven days in prison.

Johnny and Phil were also worried about Linda and had run out of options, so when Johnny mentioned her kids, Phil had a dark idea.

He texted Linda from Johnny's phone, telling her that Annie and Ollie had been in a car crash. Distraught, Linda rushed to the hospital where she was met by Suki, Kathy and Stacey.

They told her that Phil had made up the accident, and they encouraged her to go to court and give evidence, to which she eventually agreed.

Thankfully, Linda delivered her statement confidently and responded well to the questions. She admitted to the court that she is an alcoholic but was sober on the night of Keanu’s death.

Dean was furious with his defence, as it looked like he was going to be charged with murder, and he decided to stop taking his advice.

As Dean took the stand, he had a change of tact, and accused not only Sharon of killing Keanu but all six women of framing him.

In a shock twist, he finally admitted that he raped Linda – arguing that this was her revenge.

"I raped her," he said. "Send me down for that. But I'll tell you one thing, sweetheart – you ain't sending me down for a murder I didn't do."

This is very the first time he has admitted the crime in public, since the attack back in 2014. But his admission could change everything for the murder trial.

With Linda left devastated as the court adjourned, what will this mean for the verdict?

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
