Who Was Eliminated on 'The Traitors' Season 2 This Week?

Yikes. Things are not looking great for the Traitors. After riding high for the first half of the season, the Faithfuls are really starting to clean up. In two Round Tables in a row, Traitors have been ousted, Peter Weber refused to join the Traitors and this week the sole remaining Traitor fell under heavy suspicion. However, there are two episodes left and the game certainly isn't over yet.

The Traitors (along with Alan Cumming and his over-the-top outfits) is now more than halfway through Season 2, and so far it's been glorious. It was also recently announced to be the #1 unscripted series in the U.S. across all streaming platforms, according to Nielsen.

Twenty-two players from shows like Big Brother, The Challenge and The Real Housewives entered the Scottish mansion and were assigned the titles of either Traitor or Faithful. Now they're eliminating each other one by one, duking it out for the $250,000 prize pot.

Here's everything that went down in Episodes 8 of The Traitors Season 2:

Who was murdered on The Traitors Season 2 Episode 8?

Carsten "Bergie" Bergersen

After Bergie used a Shield to dodge elimination in Episode 6, he was finally TKO'd by the Traitors this week. Following last week's Shield ceremony in the woods, only four players were left vulnerable to the Traitors. Of those, Bergie and Trishelle Cannatella were the only member of Peter Weber's Faithful posse. With Bergie as Peter's right hand man and Parvati Shallow dead set on taking out Peter, Bergie was an obvious second best choice.

Who was banished on The Traitors Season 2 Episode 8?

Parvati Shallow

After suspicion fell on Dan Gheesling and Parvati early on in the game, the pair did an admirable job at holding on. With only 11 players eligible for banishment, however, Parvati ran out of places to hide. Luck seemed to possibly be on her side when Peter's posse of Faithfuls opted to attempt a complicated maneuver to oust Phaedra Parks, but ultimately that plan failed and did nothing but throw more suspicion on Peter. Parvati, therefore, became the second Traitor eliminated.

The vote count:

  • Parvati (7) - MJ, Phaedra, Kate, Sheree, John, CT, Sandra

  • Phaedra (4) - Trishelle, Peter, Parvati, Kevin

Who did the Traitors recruit in Episode 8?

Kate Chastain

At the end of Episode 8, Phaedra called Kate Chastain to the castle's dungeon with an ultimatum: she can either become a Traitor or leave the game for good. While this is technically a choice and we don't know Kate's response, it seems highly unlikely that Kate would turn down the opportunity, so we'll likely start Episode 9 with two Traitors.

Who won Shields during Episode 8?

Only one shield was awarded this week and Trishelle Cannatella earned it in the cabin challenge. However, because the Traitors opted to recruit rather than murder, the Shield is a moot point this round.

Which players remain in The Traitors Season 2?

With 12 players eliminated, there remain 10 contestants in the hunt for the $250,000, with one Traitor, eight Faithfuls and one undecided. The remaining players are:

  • Chris "CT" Tamburello (Faithful)

  • John Bercow (Faithful)

  • Kate Chastain (Undecided)

  • Kevin Kreider (Faithful)

  • Mercedes "MJ" Javid (Faithful)

  • Peter Weber (Faithful)

  • Phaedra Parks (Traitor)

  • Sandra Diaz-Twine (Faithful)

  • Sheree Whitfield (Faithful)

  • Trishelle Cannatella (Faithful)
