Emma Chamberlain has said "I 'do!"

In a YouTube video shared on Monday, Sept. 15, the influencer gave fans an inside look into her self-realization that it was "time for a haircut."

Chamberlain, 23, opens her video with dramatic organ music and close-up pictures and videos of people's hair. She then pivots into her own "hair history" dating back to 2019 with a giant pad of paper and a whiteboard.

The content creator walks through her hair phases, ranging from her natural brown hair, dyeing parts of it blonde and then going full blonde. "And I realized why people always say blondes have more fun. Because I did have a lot of fun as a blonde."

She pauses, "until all of my hair started breaking off." Chamberlain notes that bleaching her hair constantly caused her hair to become brittle and break.

In 2021, Chamberlain "colored my hair back to brown," describing it as a healing phase. But she eventually went back to blonde, chopping it into a bob. "I was re-living my blonde era from years prior," she says, before grabbing an orange marker to color in the blonde doodle with orange locks.

She wanted to "do something weird," hence the orange hair. The YouTuber was undecided about whether her hair looked "really cool" or "absolutely hideous."

Chamberlain then grew weary of her orange hair and wanted to go back to her brown hair. Unfortunately, she made the mistake of using a new hairstylist for a new hairstyle, resulting in "broken shaggy black hair."

When her hair was dyed black, she asked the hairstylist to try and re-color her hair back to brown. She says that he put a product in her hair and went back to his car. She grabbed the bottle and saw "hydrogen peroxide" on the label. Running her fingers through her hair, she realized that her hair was falling out.

In the video, Chamberlain then wonders how she can better express herself with her long hair and considers a "risky" haircut as a solution. After extensive Pinterest research, she narrows it down to six short hairstyles.

She consults her family members and stylist about the chosen style, and heads to do the 'do. Chamberlain's hair is cut and colored while "Mendelssohn's Wedding March" plays in the background, likening her style choices to a major commitment.

At last, she debuts the final result, with a note that reads "blondes have more fun." Chamberlain posted about her hair journey on Instagram as well, which excited many, including Kendall Jenner, who also recently went blonde. "wait let’s hangout blondie," Jenner, 28, wrote.

Her Instagram post also included a definition for hair theory, reading: "The way we choose to style our hair heavily impacts the way others see us, and the way we see ourselves (according to the internet)."
