Kelce is a native of Cleveland Heights, a suburb of Cleveland. He attended Cleveland Heights High School, where he played football, basketball and baseball. He then played college football for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats, with whom his brother Jason Kelce also played for during his college career.

Rumors started circulating last summer that the two had been seeing each other after Kelce said on his "New Heights" podcast that he attempted to give Swift a bracelet with his phone number on it while attending the Eras Tour. The rumors were confirmed when Swift appeared at the Chiefs' Sept. 24 game against the Chicago Bears, cheering on Kelce from a private suite with his mom, Donna.
