Fans Play Matchmaker With Hoda Kotb & Kevin Costner After 'Today' Appearance
Today viewers are shipping Hoda Kotb and Kevin Costner following the actor's appearance on the NBC talk show.
The Yellowstone alum recently sat down with Kotb and her co-host Jenna Bush Hager to discuss several topics, including the new western in which he starred and directed, Horizon: An American Saga, his experience with fatherhood and the standing ovation he earned at Cannes Film Festival.
During the interview, Costner and Kotb seemed to be getting along well as they giggled and smirked at each other while discussing the 69-year-old's professional career in Hollywood and the more personal side that fans don't always get to see.
The on-camera "chemistry" was apparently so obvious, especially in a behind-the-scenes clip uploaded to the show's Instagram page on Thursday, that some viewers tried to play matchmaker between the two in the comments section.
The June 20 upload captured Costner and Kotb at arm's reach from one another and staring at the Academy Award winner's phone as Bush Hager stood behind them, offering some distance.
Text on the clip explained the two TV personalities were looking at images of the movie star's dog asleep on the door of his open dishwasher. Kotb immediately began gushing over the adorable pup, and after the two wrapped up filming for the day and embraced for a brief yet sweet hug, fans were ready to call them a couple.
"Hoda single and Kevin single….." on top-liked comment joked.
"My knees would buckle under if he put those sweet hands on me like he did you Hoda," another admitted before trying to convince the morning show host, "you should ask him out !!!"
"Hoda!! Kevin Costner is single 🤩 I see a little chemistry there ❤️," a third suggested, while several others replied with some variation of "Hoda and Kevin?❤️."
"Kevin and Hoda should date!" a different Instagram user exclaimed. "They look cute together."
Costner has only been single for about a year and only recently put an end to rumors that suggested he was dating singer-songwriter Jewel following his divorce from second wife Christine, with whom he was married for 18 years and shares three children. The Dances with Wolves alum also shares three adult children with his first wife, Cindy, as well as one son with former partner Bridget Rooney.
Kotb has also appeared to remain single since announcing her split from ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman in 2022, with whom she adopted two daughters, though the 59-year-old has been open about her experiences with dating in the time since.
