Has filming concluded for Leo DiCaprio, Benicio Del Toro movie in El Paso? Here's what we know

The odds of catching a celebrity or film crew in El Paso could dwindle after whispers that a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Benicio Del Toro is wrapping up production.

The celebrity sightings began in June, with DiCaprio and Del Toro dining at local spot Café Central, then shooting late into the evening in Downtown El Paso.

Videos on social media captured the duo filming; most recently, Del Toro was recorded grinning ear to ear, embracing fans and taking a group photo while shouting, “El Paso.”

He was also spotted smiling in the stands at a Chihuahua game on the Fourth of July.

The two A-list actors were working on an untitled film dubbed “BC Project” directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. The movie is set to be released in August 2025.

Is production wrapping up?

It seems that the filming in El Paso has wrapped up. Beto Hernandez, coordinator for the Upper Valley Artist and Farmers Market, mentioned hearing the same from a Warner Bros. staff member.

Hernandez said he helped coordinate filming at the Shoppes at Solana on Wednesday, July 12.

In a video shot by Hernandez, the film crew is working on the mall's second floor while law enforcement moves swiftly through the first-floor vendor area.

“It was a fun experience being able to be a part of something huge,” Hernandez said. “We recreated the market scene for them. There were actual shoppers there and some of our vendors filled in as extras.”
