Automotive content creator Nathan Narra, more widely known known as "NateNation" on YouTube, was killed in a rollover crash involving a C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette in the Metro Detroit area on Sunday.

The crash took place on the morning of September 22 on Dequindre Road south of Metro Parkway, near the border of Troy and Sterling Heights. According to a report by local news outlet MLive, the Corvette Stingray was discovered upside-down leaning against a fence.

Troy Police Department Sergeant Ben Hancock confirmed to Road & Track that Narra was the driver of the C8. Narra was transferred to the hospital following the crash, but ultimately passed away.

The area is known by locals as a hot spot for speeders, particularly in the early hours of the morning or after dark. There’s no word from authorities as to how fast the mid-engine sports car was traveling when the crash took place, and no other vehicles were known to have been involved.

Area man Issac Jajawie told Fox 2 Detroit News that he knew Narra, and recognized the Corvette when he saw it wrecked on the sidewalk. "I detail cars and I detail his car all the time," he told the news. "Once I saw the car, and me being the car fanatic that I am, something in my gut told me, that's him"

The NateNation YouTube channel, which had amassed more 27o,000 subscribers before the accident and counted a number of local supporters among its followers, has had its content scrubbed from the web. Narra's Instagram, Snapchat and X accounts have all been scrubbed or taken down, as well.

Narra previously made headlines in March 2020, when he was arrested following a high-speed chase that resulted in a crash south of Commerce, Texas. He was subsequently charged with reckless driving and evading arrest.
