TikTok makeup addicts are saying this four-ingredient, all-natural eyebrow tint is transformative.

In The Know’s Lisa Azcona tested the simple hack that’s gone viral on the social media platform. According to TikTokers all you need are coffee groundscocoa powdercoconut oil and honey to make your brows look thicker and darker. But does it actually work? Lisa definitely has got some opinions of her own.

“I typically never leave the house without filling in my eyebrows because they’re so light and thin,” Lisa said. “So I’m hoping that this DIY hack will help me get bolder brows that can stand on their own.”

First, combine the ingredients.

“Add some leftover coffee grounds in your bowl. Then add some cocoa powder. This step is really important because the more cocoa powder you add the lighter the tint will be, so it really depends on the look you’re going for,” Lisa explained. “Next add some coconut oil to liquefy the mixture a bit. Then squeeze a bit of honey into the bowl. This is going to help the mixture stick onto your brows.”

Be sure to stir the ingredients together thoroughly so that the color is even on both brows.

Next, grab a spoolie and brush your eyebrows so they look even. Using an angled brush, apply the mixture in small strokes.

“Feel free to shape the brows how you like to but try to avoid getting any of the mixture outside of your brows,” Lisa said.

Finally, let the tint sit on your brows for about 25 to 30 minutes then wipe it off with a damp cloth.

In the end, Lisa wasn’t as sold on the hack as TikTok was.

“So I’m a little bummed out that my eyebrows aren’t as dark as I thought they would be,” she said. “There’s definitely a tint there but it’s really faint. I feel like this hack would work better if you did it once a week or more.”

However, there was one surprising benefit.

“The mixture sort of felt like a mask for my eyebrows,” Lisa said. “My eyebrows feel super soft, I feel like the honey really helped lock in the moisture which is perfect for the colder months.”
