First Dates star Merlin Griffiths given "all clear" from bowel cancer after scan
First Dates' Merlin Griffiths has revealed he's been given the "all clear" from bowel cancer following his first-year scan.
The bartender was diagnosed with stage three bowel cancer back in 2021 and has undergone multiple surgeries since, including an operation to remove a 4.5cm-wide tumour in April last year.
But following a recent CT scan, Griffiths received the final results from his doctor who confirmed he is cancer-free.

Sharing the email on his Instagram account, the doctor informed him that "all looks good" and that "there are no signs of any reoccurrence" at this time.
Writing in the caption, the Channel 4 favourite added: "Final Year 1 scan results are in, and it’s ALL CLEAR for now. Nice. Thank you #NHS #bowelcancerawareness."
Fans of First Dates took to the comments section in their droves to congratulate the mixologist on beating the disease.
Alongside an array of red love heart emojis, one person penned: "That's amazing news, Merlin! Keep well and enjoy the new found health."
Echoing their comments, someone else said: "This is absolutely fabulous. Amazing news for you and your family."
Meanwhile, a third commented: "Brilliant news! Can't wait to see you back on First Dates and all full of smiles."
In a bid to raise awareness of bowel cancer, Griffiths has spoken openly about his diagnosis and journey with the disease.

In April this year, the star bravely revealed his stoma scars live on TV while opening up about his bowel cancer journey and the key symptoms to look out for.
Speaking to ITV's Lorraine, he said: "Going through it all myself, you get very comfortable talking about this stuff [checking your poo] because you have to and you’re dealing with medical professionals and treating your diagnosis.
"But I think there is a bigger point and people have to be comfortable talking about this before this happens."
