Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt's new movie The Fall Guy has unveiled its first trailer.

Based on the '80s TV series of the same name, the upcoming film sees Gosling play "battle-scarred" stuntman Colt Seavers, who left the business to focus on his mental and physical health.

However, when the star of a new big-budget movie directed by his ex Jody (Blunt) goes missing, Cole is "drafted back into service".

The film's official synopsis continues: "While the film's ruthless producer (Ted Lasso's Hannah Waddingham) manoeuvres to keep the disappearance of star Tom Ryder (Bullet Train's Aaron Taylor-Johnson) a secret from the studio and the media, Colt performs the film's most outrageous stunts while trying to charm his way back into Jody's good graces.

"But as the mystery around the missing star deepens, Colt will find himself ensnared in a sinister, criminal plot that will push him to the edge of a fall more dangerous than any stunt."

The action-packed trailer sees Waddingham's character task Cole with finding Tom Ryder so he can "save Jody's film" and get the love of his life back. During his search, Cole gets himself involved with some "shady people" who are trying to kill him.

Winston Duke (Black Panther) and Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once) also star.

The Fall Guy is directed by real-life stuntman and Deadpool 2 director David Leitch, while Drew Pearce wrote the script.

The film unites Gosling and Blunt after the pair went head-to-head at the box office during the Barbenheimer phenomenon earlier this year. Gosling played Ken in Greta Gerwig's pink-hued Barbie movie, while Blunt starred in Christopher Nolan's biographical war drama Oppenheimer.

The Fall Guy is scheduled for release on March 1, 2024 in the UK and US.
