Fox, Grace and Frankie Team Developing Drama About Miracle-Hunting Task Force

Fox believes in miracles: The network is developing a one-hour drama titled The Miracle Department, according to our sister site Variety.

“Based on a real Catholic organization, The Miracle Department is a heartfelt, comedic, hour-long series about a brilliant, but disgraced, former FBI agent who joins forces with a quirky task force to hunt for genuine miracles,” per the official synopsis.

Brendan McCarthy and Alex Kavallierou (Grace and Frankie) will serve as writers and executive producers on the prospective series, with their Grace and Frankie colleague Marta Kauffman also serving as an EP. (Kauffman is best known for co-creating the hit NBC sitcom Friends, with other credits including Dream On and Veronica’s Closet.)

Fox has already rolled out its primetime schedule for next season, with new series Rescue: HI-Surf — a lifeguard drama set in Hawaii — slated to air Mondays at 9/8c, following the return of 9-1-1: Lone Star. Plus, new mystery Murder in a Small Town, starring Smallville alum Kristen Kreuk, will air Tuesdays at 9 pm, following Season 2 of the crime anthology Accused. (For a closer look at Fox’s fall schedule, click here.)
