FSU baseball vs. UConn prediction, odds for NCAA tournament super regional
Florida State baseball has made its way to Super Regional of the 2024 NCAA Baseball tournament.
It would be the first time since 2019 that Seminoles could two games away from playing from competing in the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
It is also the first time since 2017 that the Seminoles host the best-of-three series at Dick Howser Stadium, which will begin on Friday at noon on ESPN.
In comes the Connecticut Huskies (35-24).
The No. 8 seed FSU may have the home-field advantage, but that didn't stop the Huskies from taking down No. 9 Oklahoma in the Norman regional on Monday.
First game is always a crucial one in Super Regionals. Both teams are looking to make a statement as Game 1.

FSU 9 UConn 6: The earlier, the better for FSU coach Link Jarrett.
Just like last week in the four-team Tallahassee Regional, it will come down to pitching for the Seminoles.
The question will be how Jarrett will approach the best-of-three series.
Ace Jamie Arnold was held for the second game, turning in a stellar performance in the victory over Central Florida.
Carson Dorsey had a strong showing in the regional opener against Stetson, throwing 8.2 innings. Will this also be the week we see Cam Leiter return after being out since mid-March due to injury?
UConn has a .465 slugging percentage. Four batters have double-digit home runs. FSU can match its hitting with theirs, but UConn is also strong with their pitching staff, with three Huskies with over 84 strikeouts.
Ian Cooke is 5-1 on the mound. Their closer, Brady Afthim, leads the Huskies in saves. Expect a more defensive series from both teams, but FSU should be able to make it out of Super Regional.
