Some people hate fun. Listen, there is absolutely nothing wrong with hating fun; there are a ton of "fun" things that I can't stand. However, so as not to ruin other people's fun, us fun-haters really need to keep that to ourselves.

Some people, though, simply cannot do that. recently, one Pit Bull almost got in trouble after someone reported her being "aggressive" toward other dogs and the birds at the park. However, when the police showed up, they quickly learned that she was not a danger. In fact, that murder of crows was full of her friends:

I'm so glad that Jennifer Lee's Pit Bull was okay through all of this. Being that she's a Pit Bull, no one is really surprised that this happened, but that doesn't make it any less upsetting.

Maggie (full name: Maggiepotamus) was out for a walk with her mom in the park. She walks through this park almost every day, so a lot of other park patrons, as well as the animals of the park, have come to know and love her. Apparently, this includes a group of crows, which is legitimately called a murder.

Unfortunately, according to Maggie's mom, someone reported her to the police for being "aggressive" toward the other dogs and the animals at the park. He even let them know that she "caught" one of the crows, which was just a boop on the nose, but still. it sounds scary when you can't see her gorgeous face! Luckily, when the police showed up, they took a moment to really look at Maggie and almost immediately knew that she wasn't a danger. A different person may not have, though. It could've ended so badly, if not for Maggie's Murder!

When to Report Dogs to the Police

In this case, creating a false report against little Maggie was absolutely unnecessary, and it was either done by someone who misunderstood the situation or was simply looking to get her in trouble. Creating false reports wastes valuable time and resources.

However, there are situations when it is okay (and encouraged) to report dogs to the police. You should file a report if you see a dog:

  1. Left in a hot car with the windows up

  2. Being abused in public

  3. Off-leash and wandering

  4. Being legitimately aggressive toward you or another animal

  5. Bite someone

Whether the dog is lost and scared or untrained and uncared for by their owner, reporting that to the police is the easiest way to make sure everyone stays safe. Trying to resolve things peacefully first is always a good idea, but bringing in that third party is sometimes necessary. Luckily, Maggie had a whole murder of witnesses!
