Georgia baseball vs. UNC Wilmington prediction, odds, for NCAA tournament regionals

For those wanting to see Georgia baseball go up against rival Georgia Tech in the NCAA tournament Athens Regional, you’re out of luck.

At least it won’t happen on Saturday.

UNC Wilmington made sure of that, riding a second-inning grand slam from catcher Bryan Arendt and limiting Georgia Tech to 3 hits in a 9-0 shutout Friday night.

So it’s No. 1 seed Georgia vs. No. 2 seed UNC Wilmington Sunday at Foley Field (6 p.m., ESPN+)

Georgia edged Army 8-7 Friday, pounding out 12 hits and hitting a bunch of hard balls that went for outs, coach Wes Johnson said.

“That lineup is about as least an enjoyable nine innings as you can play,” Army coach Chris Tracz said. “They’ve got a chance every time someone’s at the plate. So, yeah, they can withstand a ton. ...(Kolby) Branch comes up and he's got 15 home runs in the 9 hole. That's not right."
