Gifford Pinchot's grandson Peter set to discuss conservation at luncheon in Milford

Grey Towers Heritage Association (GTHA) is hosting the next Lunch & Learn event at Forest Hall in downtown Milford on Saturday, Jan. 20. The guest speaker is Peter Pinchot, who will share about the social and economic values of forestry management.

The event is from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grey Towers mansion. Tickets are required, and cost $13 for GHTA members and $18 for the general public.

How deeply are our forests rooted in their reach across locations and time? How is Ecuador connected to Grey Towers National Historic Site? And, what role has deforestation played in the history and legacy of both? These questions and more will be explored. Discuss long-term conservation management for our future.

Peter Pinchot is senior fellow at the Pinchot Institute for Conservation, which has offices at Grey Towers and in Washington, D.C. He is the director of the Institute's Ecomadera Project in Ecuador and president of Ecomadera Forest Conservation LLC, representing the non-profit and social venture sides of creating an economic alternative to rapid deforestation in Ecuador’s northern coastal plain.
