Girl seriously injured when bicycle struck by pickup truck in Green Bay

A girl riding a bicycle was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon when she was struck by a pickup truck, according to the Green Bay Police Department.

The girl was riding in the 200 block of Bellevue Street when she entered the roadway just before 5 p.m., a witness told police.

The girl was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The girl's mother posted on Facebook Wednesday night that the 10-year-old "lost control of her bike and turned into traffic and got run over by a truck with one set of his tires." She said the girl suffered arm and head injuries and is undergoing surgery.

The driver of the truck, along with passengers, did not report any injuries.

The crash closed a portion of Bellevue Street at Deckner Avenue, along with parts of Foeller Drive and Crooks Street, while the investigation continued.
