Do you ever make time to go out on a day date with someone you love? As a mom with three busy teens, my husband and I don't get to do it very often, and I've never even considered doing one with my dog! Johnathan is dog dad to his Golden Retriever Teddy, one of the most famous pooches on social media. They went on a day date recently, and I was jealous to see all the fun things they got to do!

The video, posted on Tuesday, September 3rd, shows the two of them out on a day packed with different activities. They got to visit grandma, headed to the pet store so Teddy could pick out a new toy, had lunch, and so much more. His day looks like more fun than I've had in a long time!

I love that people always recognize Teddy when he's out and about! And it's clear that both him and his dad enjoyed their day out. It's so awesome that they spend so much time together. I love what @Susana babe had to say about the video, "I love the videos you do but I'm glad he's just being a dog today and having a good time. He's a sweetie!" @Nikki wasn't wrong when she said, "Teddy is literally everyone’s therapy doggie!"

@Salvador Lazo got nearly 100 likes when he requested, "This is my petition to see a similar teddy Tuesday but with Archie!" Archie is Teddy's brother and is often seen in the entertaining videos that Johnathan creates. @Jennifer Gill Portraits agreed, "If Archie is shy maybe an inside fun day with Archie!"

Fun Dog Date Ideas

I liked the idea of going on a doggy date, so I thought I'd share some dog date ideas that cost nothing (or nearly nothing). Our dogs are always there for us and want nothing more than our attention and affection. Life gets crazy sometimes, and we might not get to spend as much time with our fur babies as we'd like. If this sounds familiar, here are some easy ways to spend quality time with your pooch.

Get some exercise together. It could be as simple as taking them on a walk...but not their normal walk. Try walking a new route or explore somewhere they haven't been before. If you have time to spend a whole day together, jump in the car and take them to a place they've never seen or on a hike.

Dogs love new treats and toys, so why not head to the pet shop to let them choose one of each? No matter what toy I buy my dog, she always tears it up. I recently saw a tip from a vet that said if your dog is like mine, take their new toy to bed with you and sleep with it. Because it smells like you (one of their favorite scents!) they're much less likely to destroy it because it reminds them of you.

Go to a dog-friendly restaurant for lunch or grab a pup cup. Visit a dog park or arrange a play date with other dogs. No doggy friends? No problem! Most doggy daycares allow people to bring their pups in to stay and play for a few hours at a time.

If you're all out of ideas, how about doing your dog's favorite thing. If that means fetching out in the yard, do it! Stopping to smell allofthethings on a walk? Why not?! Making our dogs happy is a priority for all of us, and it doesn't have to cost any more than just your time.
