Granville Education Foundation hosting a Homecoming Week Kick-Off Party

The Granville Education Foundation is hosting a Homecoming Week Kick-Off Party, a celebration for Granville alumni, students, and community members. Following the success of our summer event, "Blue, White, & Boom," Granville alumni asked for more. GEF listened, and we are thrilled to revive some of Granville’s favorite Homecoming traditions, including the parade and bonfire.

Event Details for Sunday, Sept. 22:

  • Parade: Begins at 6 p.m.

  • Parade Route: Line the village streets from the corner of Broadway and Main Street. Parade will move east to Granger Street, then move north to Granville Elementary School's Granger Street entrance.

  • Bonfire and Pep Rally Location: Granville Elementary School Playground (Granger Street entrance)

  • Party Schedule of Events:

    • 4-8 p.m.: Family-friendly food trucks and activities, alumni gathering area, and Granville gear vendors at GES.

    • 7-8 p.m.: Bonfire and Pep Rally – Join the band, Granville High School cheerleaders, and athletes after the parade to kick off Homecoming Week with energy and school spirit!

But that’s not all – the excitement continues throughout the week:

  • Friday, Sept. 27 – 7 p.m.: Homecoming Football Game vs. Watkins Memorial High School at the GHS football stadium. Before the game, stop by the GEF Alumni Tent at the stadium entrance for a free gift, enter to win a raffle, and get your picture featured on the new GHS scoreboard!

  • Saturday, Sept. 28 – 9-11 a.m.: Meet up with former classmates, teachers, and friends, and enjoy guided tours of Granville High School every 20 minutes.

This week-long event is more than just a homecoming celebration; it’s a chance to reconnect with the Granville community, reminisce about old times, and share in the pride of our shared history. Whether you’re a long-time Granville resident or a recent graduate, this week is about celebrating everything that makes Granville special.

GEF thanks all the collaborators who are helping make this event a success, including the Granville Exempted Village School District, The Village of Granville, Granville Fire Department, and Made Local Events.
