Green Bay Packers vs Philadelphia Eagles live game updates in Brazil: injury report, predictions, odds, news, schedule

Welcome to the 2024 NFL season, Green Bay Packers fans!

Jordan Love and the Packers kick off the season against Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday night in São Paulo, Brazil, in a Week 1 showdown.

The game is the first in NFL history to take place from South America.

It's a battle of two teams that enter the year with high expectations after both advanced to the playoffs in 2023. The Packers are looking to build off a surprising run to the NFC divisional round with the youngest roster in the NFL again, while the Eagles hope for a reset after struggling down the stretch before bowing out in the wild card round.

Reporter Tom Silverstein will host his in-game chat where he'll take reader questions and provide analysis from Brazil.

Packers vs Eagles last game, history

Behind a monster rushing attack, Hurts and the Eagles ran past the Packers, 40-33, on Nov. 27, 2022, in a game that Jordan Love showed his potential following an injury of Aaron Rodgers.

The Eagles rushed for 363 yards, with Hurts leading the way with 157 yards on 17 carries. Miles Sanders also torched the Packers defense with 143 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns. Kenneth Gainwell (39 yards and a touchdown) and Boston Scott (24 yards) also contributed to the total.

Rodgers was 11 of 16 for 140 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions before exiting the game in the third quarter with an injury.

The loss dropped the Packers to 4-8.

Love took over and finished 6 of 9 passing for 113 yards and one touchdown. Love showed poise in leading two scoring drives and the performance gave head coach Matt LaFleur and general manager Brian Gutekunst confidence in moving on from Rodgers in the following offseason and turning over the starting job to Love.
