The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards just got a lot more exciting.

On Wednesday, Aug. 21, it was announced that Halsey, Lenny Kravitz, Lisa and Benson Boone would be added to the lineup of performers on Sept. 11 at New York's UBS Arena.

Halsey is set to perform a song from their forthcoming fifth album, while Kravitz will make his long-awaited return to the awards show, where he will play live at the event for the first time in 25 years. The "Fly Away" hitmaker, 60, also scored a nomination for best rock this year.

Boone — who is up for three categories including best new artist and best alternative — and Lisa of Blackpink — who is nominated for four awards this year including best K-pop and best choreography — will be making their performance debuts at this year's MTV VMAs.

Earlier this month, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, GloRilla and Rauw Alejandro were also announced as performers.

With the exception of the "I LUV IT" musician, 27, Roan, Carpenter, GloRilla and Alejandro will be making their main stage debuts next month, as the four-time Grammy-nominee returns to the VMAs for a third time for a performance from her latest record, C,XOXO. Following her record-breaking sets at Lollapalooza and Governor’s Ball earlier this summer, Roan will also perform for her first-ever awards show stage appearance at the event.

Each of the first round of announced performers is nominated at this year's VMAs, and Carpenter leads the pack with six nods — including artist of the year and song of the year for her hit "Espresso."

The "Pink Pony Club" artist, 26, is the only artist who received a best new artist nomination, plus an MTV Push performance of the year nod along with GloRilla. Meanwhile, Alejandro has earned nods for best Latin and Cabello is up for best pop.

The 2024 VMAs features 29 first-time nominees, including Carpenter, Roan, Alejandro, Tyla, Jelly Roll, Sexxy Red, Victoria Monét and more.

It was also announced that Katy Perry will receive the Video Vanguard Award, joining the ranks of icons who have won the coveted award named after Michael Jackson.

In addition to the honor, the "Teenage Dream" singer, 39, will also return to the MTV stage for the first time in seven years to perform a medley of her biggest hits.

The 2024 VMAs was originally set to air on Sept. 10 but have since moved to the following day to avoid clashing with the U.S. presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. The show will also recognize the 23rd anniversary of 9/11.

The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
