The sale will also include a 7% buyer's fee that goes to Municibid, which is hosting the auction. All other proceeds from the sale go to the city.

It wouldn't be the first time that an ambulance found new life after being sold by Municibid, which auctions fire trucks, buses, ambulances, heavy machinery and agricultural equipment.

According to the organization's blog, one New England Patriots fan who won an ambulance turned it into a one-of-a-kind tailgating hangout.

"I have resuscitated a former ambulance and brought it back to life as a motor home that we affectionately call the ‘campulance,' " said another winner. "I have no prior experience with conversions and it has proven no easy feat but I have enjoyed the lengthy process — and more so next spring/summer when we hope to take the kids camping."
