Hispanics Heritage Month is between September and October. Here's where to celebrate

From events focused on the celebration to events with a Hispanic theme, there are many ways to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

Diners also can eat at many Hispanic-owned restaurants including Havana Rumba, Seviche and Los Aztecas Mexican Restaurant.

Here are some events to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month:

An El Mundo x Skurnik Tequila Tasting Event

What: "A deep dive into the traditional styles and production methods of one of the great tequila houses — Tequila Cascahuín aka NOM 1123," according to the event description.

When: 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2

Where: El Mundo Bardstown Rd, 1767 Bardstown Rd.

Tickets: Entries can be bought through the El Mundo website and are $50.

Latin Music Awards Kentucky

What: Latino artists will be awarded in the sixth edition of the Latin Music Awards Kentucky. People can vote ahead of time in categories including Best Latin Artist, Best Latin Song and Best Mariachi Band.

When: 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21

Where: Fourth Street Live, 411 S. 4th St.

Tickets: Entries are available via Eventbrite.

Tequila Tasting Train

What: Head to the other side of the Ohio River for a tasting of Mexico's signature drink: tequila.

When: 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11

Where: French Lick Scenic Railway

Tickets: People interested have to call 812- 496- 6117.

Viva Latinx Bootcamp

What: Wel at Humana will host a workout and after people can eat Mexican food at FOKO. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations for La Casita Center, including canned fruits, toilet paper and winter clothes.

When: Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m.

Where: FOKO, 991 Logan Street

Tickets: The event is free but limited to 50 people. Tickets are reserved through Eventbrite.
