History at Archbishop Williams: South Shore high school top performers (Oct. 30-Nov. 3)

It's almost tournament time.

High school volleyball teams began the week awaiting their tournament matchups. Some high school soccer teams had one last tournament tune-up to play Monday afternoon, as the MIAA will release the brackets on Wednesday.

Monday

BOYS SOCCER

Pembroke's Quinn Reilly (2) and Wil McManus scored as the Titans defeated Marshfield, 3-0. Jack Duperre, Matt McAuliffe and Shane Crowley came up with assists. Keeper Jack Eva posted the shutout for the Titans (14-2-1).

Plymouth North goal-scorers Francis Amani (2), Josh Murray, Lucas Magalhaes and Miguel Olivera made their mark in a 5-1 win over Quincy. Murray, Jack Corby, Drew Healy, Colin Riley Perec and Christian Mahoney picked up assists.

Abington's Iury Cassemiro (2), Aiden Grafton and Liam Murtagh found the back of the net in a 4-1 win over Whitman-Hanson. Max Lindo, Enzo de Souza and Richard Galvao each picked up assists.

Rockland's Noah Jordan and João Faria scored as the Bulldogs tied New Bedford, 2-2. Rockland finishes with a 11-6-1 record.

West Bridgewater eighth-grader Dylan Spadea had 3 goals and an assist to led the way in a 6-0 win over Carver. Sophomore Aiden Mussari, senior Noah Schneeweis and senior Derek Cashman also scored. Freshman goalkeeper Ben Stapleton had his fifth shutout of the season for the Wildcats (5-12-3).

Hingham's Christopher Connelly scored twice in a 5-0 win over Catholic Memorial. Nick Oravitz and Colin Burke each had a goal and an assist, and Alessandro Neyra also found the net for the Harbormen (17-1). Mason Lemieux (2 assists) and goalkeeper Jake Riker also played well.

Southeastern's Alvaro Alves Correia, Caio Fernandes and Brian Breder scored in a 3-1 win over Bridgewater-Raynham. Christyan Marques had a pair of assists for the Hawks (12-2-3), who will play top-ranked Blackstone Valley in Tuesday's first round of the statewide voke tournament before beginning the MIAA playoffs later in the week.

GIRLS SOCCER

Archbishop Williams junior Maeve White scored the 87th goal of her career to tie the program's scoring record, as the Bishops defeated Brockton, 3-0.

Goal-scorers Emma Pero and Mary Heffernan led Cardinal Spellman to a 2-2 draw against Weston. Grace Foster and Abi Clark each tallied an assist, and Erin O’Donnell played well in the midfield. The Cardinals finish the regular season at 15-1-2.

Abington's Jill Groom and Ella Williamson recorded goals in a 2-1 win over Bedford. Rylee Nowlan recorded an assist and keeper Molly Joyce played well in net.

Hull junior Fallon Ryan scored two goals in a 3-0 win over Rockland. Junior Elly Thomas scored one goal, and senior Veronica Fleming and freshman Meghan Duran each tallied an assist. Sophomore keeper Montana Alibrandi earned the shutout in goal for the Pirates (13-2-2, 9-2-2 South Shore League).

Norwell's Kelsey Tuttle scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Duxbury. Senior goalkeeper Belle Pettit posted her 16th shutout of the season for the Clippers (18-1-1), thanks to strong defensive work from Smilla Spasic and Eden Wheeler.

Plymouth North's Avery Curtis scored twice, and Makenna Foley added a goal in a 3-0 win over Quincy. Goalkeeper Amelia Finley posted the shutout, and Elise Majka, Darby Mento and Tess Driscoll were defensive standouts.

Southeastern's Agapi Kouvlis and Paige Crockett each scored twice in a 7-1 win over South Shore Charter. Lucy Calabrese, Kelsea Doherty and Jesse Cronin added goals for the Hawks.
