The Xfinity Center in Mansfield welcomes New Kids on the Block, who still dance up a storm. Local songsmith Lainey Dionne has an EP release party at the New World Tavern in Plymouth. Could be hardcore punk or melodic pop when Bilmuri takes over the Paradise Rock Club in Boston. The British rockers The Chameleons shake up The Sinclair in Cambridge. Comic Rachel Bloom at The Wilbur Theater in Boston. Fiddler/singer Kathleen Parks is worth a trip to Club Passim in Harvard Square. The Rhythm Room Afternoons show at the John Alden Sportsman's Club in Plymouth has been converted this week into Aldous Collins' Sun & Grass Festival, with Hanover's popular Mr. Collins himself, plus four other acts (music running from noon-6 p.m.), including Chase Stebbins, and the Mini Yellow Witches. FUTURE REMINDER: If you recall, former Marshfield keyboardist Bruce Katz recorded a live album on his gig earlier this year at the Fallout Shelter in Norwood, and he's back to release the new live album Sept. 13.
