Huge fire rages as Russia attacks hometown of Ukrainian Eurovision act

An enormous fire raged in the hometown of Ukraine’s Eurovision act as Russia launched an attack on the same day as the song contest’s grand final, authorities said.

Footage released on Sunday (14 May) by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine appears to show a blaze raging at a warehouse in Ternopil, home to electro-pop duo Tvorchi.

Local authorities said the strike hit warehouses owned by commercial enterprises and a religious organisation, and that two people were injured.

Tvorchi placed sixth with 243 points.
