Human remains found today in Basin community of George County
George County Sheriff's Office has launched an investigation after human remains were found today in the Basin community.
Basin is a few miles east of the Plum Bluff area along the Pascagoula River.
The remains were found in a wooded area of the county. It is unclear whether deputies or a community member discovered the remains.
Investigators and George County Coroner Deeann Murrah are working to identify the remains.
More details will be provided as they become available, according to a report issued by Sheriff Mitchell Mixon.
