Hurricane Debby impacts 350 flights in Texas

At least 350 flights in Texas airports including seven delays Monday, Aug. 5 at El Paso International Airport may be due to Hurricane Debby.

The hurricane, a Category 1 storm, made landfall Monday morning in Steinhatchee, Fla., causing significant damage across the Southeastern United States.

The storm has affected areas widely, even in areas not directly in its path, such as Texas. The Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport is taking the lead with 146 flights canceled and delayed.

In El Paso, Southwest Airlines has the sole cancellation for Aug. 5 so far at the airport. Skywest Airlines has three delays going out of El Paso, two delays coming from Chicago airports and one delay coming in from Houston.

According to Flight Aware, a flight tracking service, the storm caused over 1,700 flight delays and more than 1,300 cancellations across U.S. airports on Monday.
